2024 represents the inaugural edition of Silver Grove Rye. For this release, we explored how whiskeys age, with barrels coming from the top two floors of our five story rickhouse in Newport, Kentucky. This aging in the hottest part of the warehouse led to powerful flavors and a somewhat elevated proof of 116.4. As with all New Riff spirits, Silver Grove Rye is bottled without chill filtration.
For a typical New Riff Bottled in Bond Whiskey, we carefully vat together barrels from multiple batches stored all over the rickhouse, seeking to obtain a broad and consistent “New Riff style” for each bottling run. For the 2024 Silver Grove Rye, we highlighted the more extreme environment of the upper floors. Barrels that live their whole lives on the higher floors present at a higher proof, appear darker/richer, and have a bit more aggressive, elevated and concentrated flavors, especially when it comes to spiciness and rich wood flavors.
Silver Grove Rye is available exclusively at the New Riff Distillery Gift Shop and The Aquifer Tasting Room. A portion of the proceeds from every bottle sold benefis the Silver Grove Community Foundation.

Up front cinnamon spiciness, hint of vanilla and singed toffee. Delightfully aggressive, complex oak and rye flavors.
Plump, oily rye grains, huge mint, black pepper, with hints of citrus, caraway and oak.
Bold Rye spice with a nice minerality and eucalyptus. Fading with a spicy, yet mouth cooling finish.
