New Riff Distilling proudly introduces The Confluence Project: Volume 1, a collaborative series with Chattanooga Whiskey that celebrates shared learning, distinct approaches, and the beauty of differences. Named for the meeting of two rivers, and, in this case, two distilleries, The Confluence Project begins with a single mashbill, shaped differently by each distillery’s philosophy and style of whiskey making.
For this inaugural release, both distilleries agreed on a 100% wheated mashbill before setting out to make the whiskey in their own distinct ways. From mash to barrel, each distilling team applied its unique techniques, philosophies, and traditions, resulting in two collections of single barrels that reflect the whiskey making decisions of both distilleries.
Born from friendship and mutual respect between founding distillers Grant McCracken and Brian Sprance, The Confluence Project offers whiskey lovers a rare chance to taste how a shared mashbill can take on entirely different voices when guided by two distinct distilleries.

The Confluence Project was born from friendship — and an irresistible question: what happens when two distilleries start from exactly the same place, then go their own way? New Riff and Chattanooga Whiskey agreed on a single starting point: a 100% wheated mashbill. From there, each distillery applied its own philosophies, techniques, and traditions — from mash to barrel — resulting in two collections of single barrels that are as different as the distilleries that made them.
Named for the convergence of two rivers, The Confluence Project celebrates shared learning and the beauty of distinct approaches. Volume 1 is a rare chance to taste how the same foundation can yield entirely different expressions when guided by different hands, different histories, and a deep mutual respect.
