New Riff Blue Clarage Bourbon

100 Proof | Aged at least 5 years

50% alc/vol. | Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Blue Clarage corn was developed in the 1920’s by farmer Edmund Clarridge in Clinton County, Ohio. An authentic blue Ohio corn, it lends a marked difference to they whiskey compared to our usual recipe, replete with fruited, spicy tones.

The Blue Clarage corn, however, took a more circuitous route to our distillery; we were given 150 pounds of the Blue corn as seed stock from farmer Tony West at Appalachian Heirloom Plant Farm. Charles Fogg took this seed stock and grew it into a crop that sustained out singular production of this whiskey for years. Blue corn is often associated with tortilla chips, the Southwest and Mexico, but it comes from our homeland in the Ohio Valley, too.
