The Aquifer Tasting Bar is located inside New Riff Distilling. We offer cocktails, samples, flights, neat and rocks pours of our award winning spirits. Open Tuesday - Saturday from 11am to 7pm, and Sunday from 11 am - 4pm.

NEW FASHIONED

  • 2oz New Riff Bourbon
  • 1/2oz Demerara simple syrup, recipe follows 
  • 2 Dashes of orange bitters

*Directions: Add New Riff Bourbon, Demerara, bitters and ice into a mixing glass. Stir, then strain into a rocks glass with ice. Garnish with an orange peel and a Luxardo cherry. 

Demerara simple syrup: 

  • 1/2 cup sugar in the raw
  • 1/2 cup water

Mix ingredients into sauce pan. Bring to boil, reduce to simmer for 1 minute. Take off the heat and cool. 

BBA GIN MARTINI

  • 2oz New Riff Kentucky Wild Gin Bourbon Barreled
  • 1oz Contratto Dry Vermmouth
  • 2 Dashes of Angostura bitters

*Directions: Add BBA Gin, dry vermouth, bitters and ice to a mixing glass. Stir, then strain into a couple glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon. 

GIN + TONIC WITH SHRUB

  • 2oz New Riff Kentucky Wild Gin
  • 1/2oz Grapefruit Shrub
  • Top with Tonic

Garnish with rosemary and a lime wheel. 

PERFECT MANHATTAN

  • 2oz New Riff Rye Whiskey 
  • 2 Dashes of Bittercube Blackstrap bitters 
  • 1/2oz Cocchi Sweet Vermouth
  • 1/2oz Contratto Dry Vermouth

*Directions: Add Rye, bitters, vermouth and ice into a mixing glass. Stir, then strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with three Luxardo cherries on a pick. 

BEAST OF BURDEN

  • 2 oz New Riff Bottled in Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon
  • 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
  • 1 oz *Ginger simple syrup
  • 1 oz fresh Lime juice

Shake and strain into rocks glass filled with ice

Top with Ginger beer (we recommend Q brand-available at Party Source)

Garnish with a lime wheel and fresh mint

 

Ginger Simple Syrup:

  • Combine equal parts water and sugar
  • Bring to a boil
  • Add 3-4 knobs of fresh Ginger (peeled and roughly chopped)
  • Simmer for 5-10 minutes
  • Let cool and strain

*For a stronger syrup add more ginger/leave in longer to infuse

EVERYBODY HURTS

  • 1.5 oz New Riff Bottled in Bond Kentucky Straight Rye
  • 1 oz Second Sight Spiced Rum
  • *1 oz Blood orange simple syrup
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz pineapple juice
  • ¾ oz coconut cream
  • 2 Dashes Bittercube Blackstrap Bitters

Shake and strain into a tiki mug filled with ice

Garnish: bamboo straw, dehydrated pineapple, luxardo cherry, umbrella

Blood Orange Simple

  • 1 Cup Blood Orange Juice
  • 2 Cup Simple Syrup (1:1)

SEX AND CANDY

  • 2 oz New Riff Bottled in Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon
  • ½ oz cherry puree (We use Reàl brand- available at party source)
  • ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
  • 2 dashes Fee Brothers Rhubarb Bitters

Shake and strain into a Highball glass filled with ice

Top with Rhinegeist Wowie

Garnish: lemon wheel and cherry gummy

CUCUMBER CASTLE

  • * 2 oz cucumber simple
  • 2 oz New Riff Kentucky Wild Bourbon Barrel Aged Gin
  • ½ oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 sprigs each of mint and cilantro in shaker

Shake and strain into a highball glass with a cucumber ribbon and ice

Garnish: long sliced thin cucumber curled inside of Hi-Ball glass and clothes pin of mint sprig

Cucumber simple: 

  • 4 medium/large cucumbers- peeled, cut in half and de-seeded then blended in food processor (yield 2 cups juice after blended and strained)
  • Add to ½ deli of simple syrup (2 cups)
  • Add 1 oz of lime
  • Add all to simple syrup
  • Let cool
  • Strain if needed

IT'S WATERMELON TIME

  • 1 ½ oz New Riff Kentucky Wild BBA Gin
  • *1 ½  oz Watermelon simple
  • ½ oz Ancho chile liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 dashes Bittercube Corazon Bitters
  • 2 dashes Bittercube Orange bitters

Shake and strain into a highball glass filled with ice

Garnish: Fresh watermelon triangle (small slice)

Watermelon simple:

  • 2 cups fresh watermelon blended in food processor
  • Strain
  • Add juice to 2 cups simple syrup
  • Add 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • Let cool

PURPLE HAZE (zero proof)

  • 2 drops of BLURE (butterfly pea flower extract-available at Party Source) in bottom of highball filled with ice (add ice then do drops over ice)
  • In bottom a shaker tin, add 2-3 sprigs of fresh mint
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 1 oz water
  • 1 oz New Riff spirit (optional)

Shake and strain into highball

Top with soda

Garnish: Garnish with lemon flower on a pick across and clothes pin of fresh mint sprig

DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY

  • 1.5 oz New Riff Bottled in Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 1 oz egg white
  • 1/4 oz heavy cream

Dry shake for 1 minute

Add ice

Shake 30 seconds

Double strain and serve up in Nick and Nora glass

Spray Angostura bitters through deli lid stencil

EVERY ROSE HAS IT'S THORN

  • 3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 3/4 oz Green Tea/Cocoa Nib Simple Syrup
  • 2 oz New Riff Spirit
  • 2 dash Bitters

Ins: Shake, strain into glass and garnish.

Green Tea/Cocoa Nib Simple Syrup: 

Steep a small amount of cocoa nibs in hot water with your favorite green tea, after you’re done steeping strain the liquid and weigh it (grams are suggested). While still hot, whisk in an equal weight of granulated sugar until fully dissolved. Let cool, put in container and refrigerate.
